“Hello,
My Name is Sr. Mary Kyrian Ononiwu. As
a young girl I often thought about becoming a Carmalite nun like St. Therese the
Little Flower, but I never really spoke to anyone about it. I suppose I thought a religious vocation was for other
people, but not for me. After all, who
was I that God would call me.
So This thoughts alway in my mind and I never for one day disclose it to any of my families.But later on in life I told my Mum that I would like to enter into religious life. It was a long story but at last I won the battle with the help of Our Mother Mary. Years later as a student, I notice that really God is really calling me into religious life. This time I pursued religious life, but had to wait on the Lord for His place and timing. I was received as a postulant with the Daughters of Mary, Mother of Mercy, on September 8, 1984, and I knew that I had found where I was always meant to be. I have never been happier—there is no joy like being in God’s perfect will! I continue to experience the fulfillment of Jesus’ promise: ‘Everyone who would give up home, brothers, sisters, father, mother, wife, children or property for my sake will receive many times as much and inherit eternal life. (Mt. 19:29).’”
